Experience the convergence of timeless art and grand architecture at the Arabian Peninsula's inaugural universal museum. Designed by acclaimed French architect Jean Nouvel, the Louvre Abu Dhabi stands as an architectural marvel on water. Its prestigious reputation is bolstered by collaborations with world-renowned institutions like Musée du Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, and Centre Pompidou, and represents a partnership between the Abu Dhabi and French governments.

Located in Saadiyat Cultural District, spanning over 65,000 square feet, the museum features a comprehensive array of artifacts spanning from ancient history to contemporary art. Its chronological exhibits guide visitors through four key eras: archaeology and early Islam, classical antiquity, and modernity. The museum also includes a 20,000-square-foot space for temporary exhibitions and a dedicated children's section.

A highlight of the museum is its intricately designed dome, inspired by traditional regional construction methods like the Falaj water system and woven palm leaves. This geometric lattice dome, adorned with star-like patterns, creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow, perfect for stunning photographs.

Exhibitions

Louvre Abu Dhabi hosts four annual temporary exhibitions, a result of its unique collaboration with France. Partnering with 13 French museums, these exhibitions offer exceptional artworks to the Middle Eastern audience.

• Each child under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

• The Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi remains closed on Mondays.

• Last entry 30 Minutes prior to closing time.

• At times some galleries will be closed due to installation of new artworks.

• Food and water is strictly prohibited inside the galleries.

• The galleries are set at a relatively cool temperature to protect the installations. You might want to consider carrying a stole/scarf, especially for kids.

• Photography is permitted throughout the Louvre. However, flash photography is not allowed in some areas with sensitive exhibits.
